How to become a volunteer
Please note all volunteers will need to obtain/present a Police Record Check, that has been completed in the last year. If you are a resident of North Bay, these can be obtained through the North Bay Police Service. If you are a resident of the surrounding area, yours can be obtained through the Ontario Provincial Police. These can take a few weeks to process so we encourage you to start this process as early as possible. To assist with your application, please download this letter from Special Olympics Ontario, outlining the request for your record check, this will need to accompany your application with both the NBPS or OPP.
If you need assistance or wish to sign up in person, there will be 3 volunteer blitz days at NBPS headquarters, located at 135 Princess Street West, North Bay. At these blitz days, you can sign-up to volunteer AND start your Criminal Record Check. The Blitz dates are:
- Tuesday October 13 - 5pm-8pm,
- Saturday October 24- 9am to noon,
- Wednesday November 4, 9am to noon
From all of our Athletes & Team Members, THANK YOU!!

To participate, the parent/guardian or adult supervisor must first create a volunteer profile using the link above. Please also complete the form below to let us know who will be volunteering with you.
